THE WYNWOOD CORDOBA
There are pieces of furniture that reveal their quality quietly, and there are pieces that announce it the moment you see them.
The Wynwood Cordoba belongs to the latter.
At approximately 68 inches wide, this is a substantial piece, but its presence comes from more than scale. Look closely and nearly every surface has been considered: the gently bowed front, deeply framed drawers, fluted columns, carved upper molding, paneled center doors, sculpted base, and ornate hardware.
It comes from a tradition of furniture design in which the furniture itself contributed architecture to a room.
ABOUT WYNWOOD
Wynwood became known for substantial residential case goods and coordinated furniture collections designed for bedrooms, dining rooms, and other areas of the home.
The Cordoba collection reflects that heritage particularly well. European-inspired proportions, layered moldings, carved details, bow-front construction, and extensive storage give this piece a presence that is increasingly difficult to find in contemporary mass-market furniture.
THE RESTORATION
When this Cordoba arrived at TBDesign, we had a decision to make.
We could reimagine it with paint, or we could recognize that what was already there deserved to remain.
We chose the latter.
The wood was refreshed in a rich mahogany finish designed to restore warmth and depth while allowing the grain and natural variation of the wood to remain visible.
The ornate hardware was removed and refreshed in a warm 18K gold-tone finish before being carefully reinstalled.
The result isn't an old dresser trying to look new.
It is a well-made piece of furniture allowed to show its character again.
CHARACTER WORTH KEEPING
Behind the architectural design is an exceptionally functional piece.
Multiple drawers provide substantial storage, while the center cabinet adds another dimension of functionality. Its scale allows it to work beautifully as a bedroom dresser, dining-room storage piece, statement console, or substantial entry piece.
As with all previously loved furniture, characteristics consistent with age and previous use may remain.
We don't believe every indication of a piece's history needs to disappear.
Those details remind us that the piece had a story before it reached our shop.
Our job is to prepare it for what comes next.

ABOUT TBDESIGN
TBDesign began with a simple belief: good furniture shouldn't become disposable simply because styles change or years pass.
We restore pieces whose craftsmanship and character deserve another chapter, and we build new pieces intended to become the heirlooms of tomorrow.
Some pieces are completely reimagined. Others need only thoughtful restoration. And through our custom work, we can create something specifically for your home.
Every piece begins with the same question:
What about this is worth preserving?
